Funny Face

Recently, i've become a sort of Audrey Hepburn fanatic. I've watched all the films including the oh so famous "breakfast at tiffanys" and bought a poster to go in my room off her. I've even visted the V&A to see the outfits she wore.
I wasn't sure at first what it was that made me take a shine to Audrey but now i look on it, i think it was to do with her charming nature and wit. Not to mention her great style of Fashion!
So, yesterday i was casually looking for magazines to add to my daily collection, and i came across the new Tatler magazine. I hadn't actually read that publication before. Naturally, i decided to take a cheeky peak.
Not only does it have great journalist pieces in it but it also had lots and lots and lots of unseen photographs of Audrey. Every single photo captured her innocence and beauty.
Oh Audrey, you and your stray cat might not have belonged to anybody but you certainly belonged in the media industry!!!

Alice In Wonderland

You know that crazy obsession you have that nobody understands? Well Alice In Wonderland is mine. Ever since i was a little girl, i loved everything about it. From the Mad Hatter and his tea party to the purple and pink stripes on the chesire cat. Oh, and if you haven't seen Tim Burtons recreation of the book, then i suggest you do right NOW!

So i got thinking, my 16th birthday is coming up soon..........why not have an Alice In Wonderland theme? Which sounded perfect until i decided i was turning 16 not 6. So as a result i am now having an itallian meal with friends. But, i still like to keep a bit of the child in me, so im looking at ideas for different designs of Alice In Wonderland cakes.

Here are a few images, let me know which one you think is best and why?

Vogue is my bible, and amen to fashion!

And Sarah Jessica Parker couldn't be any more right in my opinion! My dream in life is to become a fashion writer/journalist for a fashion glossy magazine. If i could work for Company Magazine or Elle or Vogue, my life would be complete. I believe fashion is simply something that nobody can live without and its brilliant that we can explore new and lovely ways to make people feel comfortable, pretty and happy in what their wearing. I believe that sometime your clothes can represent parts of your personality. Fashion is just simply what makes the world go round (and money and love of course)

To pastel or not to pastel? That is the question.

href="http://http://www.topshop.com/webapp/l/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay? So many pretty candy colours are hitting the catwalks this season! With florals and lace too, pastel colours are the ultimate girly girl feel. If your not so much into all of these light colours, you can always team it up with something grunge! Like a leather jacket, studs, whatever you like really! But let these lovely pastel colours make you feel pretty too! Like this Beautiful baby blue blazer from Topshop for only £40. So go make yourself feel like the wonderful women you are!

Stars and stripes

This summery season is all about florals, lace, pastel colors.... pretty much every girls dream! However, i've found that there is one type of fashion trend that has been following us around for quite some time. That my fashionable friend, would be the american flag. The stars and stripes patterned over anything denim. This season i know what ill be wearing (asides the lace, florals, and pastel colors)

Here is a lovely denim jacket i spotted that has summer written all over it
From Topshop for £45. A little pricey but i reckon its worth it.
Besides you can't go wrong with a bit of denim......

Do what makes you laugh!

It's true what they say ya know! Your never fully dressed without a smile. Recently, I've come to notice how so many people are worried about actually being themselves! Usually, in most cases it's because of fitting in with friends but it's also because so many darn people are unhappy! When I was younger I had the exact same problem. However, as I've gotten a little older I came to the conclusion that I couldn't care less what other people think of me. If they didn't like what I was wearing, then that was there opinion. Don't get me wrong, everyone is intitled to an opinion! Nevertheless, sometimes it's good to keep opinions to yourself. I went through a depression trying to live up to other peoples expectations and now I look back thinking what an idiot I was to have wasted so much time being unhappy, I could kick myself! Worrying about what others think of you is like holding up an umbrella, waiting for it to rain. As my dad would always say "it's pointless like a pencil". Life is too short to be unhappy. I know my friends will kill me for saying this (because I say it all the time) but You Only Live Once! So make the most of it while you can. Let the small and big things in life make you smile! Like the image here did for me. The moto is- Be yourself, after all, everybody else is already taken!

Fashion and magazines

I've always loved fashion! Since i was a toddler in my dungarees and stripy t-shirt with pigtails. It's just something i feel strongly about! I feel like everyone and anyone should be able to wear whatever the hell they want!!! People are gonna judge, but hey ho that's life! It's just something we'll have to deal with eventually.

If i could get into anyyyyy magazine as a type of fashion editor, journalist.... well, anything really! I'd be over the moon with the cat and a spoon (Well, not quite but you get my gist).

But then again acting and singing has always been a dream of mine as well. So as you can tell, if i fit into any creative criteria for a job in the future i will be very very happy. :D

wish me luck

Today i got to use my new Olympus E-500 camera today properly for the first time. I was so excited and it was no disappointment. The camera took some beautiful, clear, and simply amazing shots. Such a lucky girl and couldn't be any happier with it!

So today i decided to get some of my photography done for one of my chosen GCSE subjects; Art. And this is one of the examples. This photo was one of my favorite's because it brings out the simplicity of the piano and at the same time has that lovely vintage/old look to it.

Anyway, i hope you readers like this photo, and get back to me if you think i should put any more up.

My love for this woman.

Two words. Zooey Deschanel. Enough said.
She's inspired me in so many ways. Not only is she beautiful and amazing at acting but amazing at singing too. She's everything i could dream of being!
Have fallen madly in love with her new tv show "New Girl". If you haven't seen it yet! I recommend you watch it like NOWWWW!

500 Days Of Summer has to be the best film she was ever in and it also happens to be my favorite film of all time! The script in that film is to die for as well.

So yeah pretty much love everything about this woman. She's just basically beautiful inside and out.

Happy I Love You Day :)

Today is valentines day. Where the people who are in relationships celebrate there love for each other and exchange gifts. It's also the day that the people that are single, moan on about there lives and hate on the other people that are in relationships, and then feel sorry for themselves. This leads to drinking, hangover next day, and then a normal day of reality again.

However, peoples misconceptions and ideas of "Valentines Day", is that it's all about relationships. Well guess what! IT'S NOT. Valentines Day is about spending time with the people you love and showing how much you care about them. For example, my mum wrote me a card saying "Happy i love you day" and gave me a box of Quality Street Chocolates. Also, my two little sisters attempted to do some creative cards for me as well. So as you can see, it's not all about having a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner. It's about sharing the love!

Regardless, i would like to mention that i do have a lovely boyfriend. In which i have been with him for 2 years now. Still, i am completely in love with him and continue to fall more and more in love with him every day. As lovey dovey as that may sound. It's completely true. He bought me the most beautiful flowers today, and a card filled with words that filled me up with butterfly's. Just wanted him to know that i love him so incredibly much and always will. :)

Anyway, the moral of today's post is to the moaners who moan on valentines day. Stop being so gloomy! Stop feeling sympathetic for yourself and go show how much you love your family and friends etc...... SPREAD THE LOVE!

A rant on heels

Why is it? That at my day of age (fifteen/sixteen) if a girl was to go out wearing heels casually, they would automatically get a name for themselves or be judged? However, a woman can go out wearing heels on a daily basis and it's a completely different story. For woman wearing heels is a beautiful thing. But for teenagers, wearing heels is slutty?

If i could i would go out everyday wearing a new pair of heels. They seem to go with everything, but yet i'm not confident enough to walk out the house wearing a pair. Same goes for most girls my age. You know that annoying feeling where your looking at a pair of heels lingering in your wardrobe, and knowing that the only time you'll be able to wear them will be at either a party, night club, or a posh resturant.

Then it occured on me, people judge all the time. But if we keep living in fear of people's expectations and living up to them. Well... we'd never really get out of the house would we? We'd be alone, locked in the houses, curtains shut, living with 27 cats.

The point is, at the end of the day, we only live once (YOLO). If we never do these things then we could be missing out on a lot of opportunity's. Be yourself and be happy! Do what you want to do with your life! So from now on, get out those heels that have been all lonesome in your wardrobe and wear them till your feet bleed (well not literally).

Life is like a cup of tea, it's all in how you make it
